33 weeks of pregnancy is about 8 months, or more specifically, the second week of the 8th month. At this point in the third trimester, the mother’s body is going through important changes to prepare for birth, while the fetus is in its final stages of development.
By 33 weeks, your baby’s bones are formed but still soft. The baby also continues to gain weight and body fat, is getting more prepared for birth, may already be head-down, and may react more strongly to sounds around them.
It is common to feel more tired, short of breath, and have heartburn or swelling, especially in the legs, hands, and face. However, sudden swelling or swelling with very rapid weight gain may be a warning sign of preeclampsia and should be checked by a doctor.
In the third trimester, prenatal checkups should be more frequent. Only your OB-GYN or midwife can monitor your health and your baby’s health, check for possible complications, and help you prepare safely for labor and delivery.
