Is it normal to have bleeding after a Pap smear?
Bleeding after Pap smear testing is usually light and may last 1 to 2 days. It can result from cervical sensitivity, cervicitis, cervical ectropion, vaginal thinning after menopause, or a cervical polyp. Heavy or ongoing bleeding with pain, unusual discharge, fever, or bleeding between periods needs medical evaluation.
