28 weeks pregnant in months is about the end of the 7th month and the beginning of the third trimester. At this stage, prenatal visits often happen every 2 to 3 weeks until 36 weeks of pregnancy, and then once a week until delivery.
In the third trimester, prenatal care may include blood work, urine testing, and screening for infections such as syphilis and HIV. The group B strep test in pregnancy is usually done between 36 and 37 weeks.
Your doctor or midwife may also order an ultrasound at the beginning of the third trimester to check the baby’s growth and development. This exam helps your provider make sure the pregnancy is progressing as expected.
