Thyroid symptoms can often arise with thyroid malfunctining, mainly when it becomes overactive (which is referred to hyperthyroidism), or under-active (which is known as hypothyroidism).
What is it: The TSH blood test is used to evaluate thyroid function and is normally ordered by the family doctor or endocrinologist.
Symptoms of hyperthyroidism are nervousness, irritability, weight loss, increased sweating and heart palpitations.
